Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has resigned from his Legislative Council membership.
He was recently elected to the Rajya Sabha. In this context, he has given up his MLC membership. He will also resign from the post of CM soon. Nitish Kumar was unanimously elected in the Rajya Sabha elections held on March 16 for Bihar seats. However, the Constitution stipulates a period of 14 days to resign from either of the memberships when he has membership in both the houses.

Meanwhile, this period is set to end on March 30. In this context, Nitish Kumar, who was elected to the Rajya Sabha, resigned from his Legislative Council membership on Monday. He will also resign from the post of CM soon. It is reported that Nitish Kumar is likely to take oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha on April 9.

On the other hand, Nitish Kumar, who first won as an MLA in 1985, began his political career. He ascended the throne of Bihar’s Chief Minister for the first time in 2005. Nitish Kumar, who is the tenth CM of Bihar in a record number of times, changing political alliances, will soon resign from that post as well.
