‘Nilima Utsav’ celebrated in Kalarabanka smart village by Dr. Achyuta Samanta

Kalarabanka: The 95th birth anniversary and ‘Nilima Utsav’ of Ma Nilimarani Samanta was celebrated in Kalarabanka on Thursday. She was the woman who turned Kalarabanka area in Cuttack district into a model village.

In this 95th Birth Anniversary celebration, two social workers have been awarded the ‘Nilimarani Samaj Seva Samman’. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the son of the village and the founder of KIIT, KISS and KIMS, presided over the meeting.

The Chief guest of the Nilima Utsav was Justice Satrughana Pujari of the Odisha Human Rights Commission. He highlighted the life and the achievements of Nilimarani. Among the other guests were Antrayami Samanta, the president of Neelima Memorial Service Trust, eminent spiritual mentor Baba Ram Narayan Das, village committee chairman Anjan Kumar Samanta, village committee secretary Abhin Chandra Kesha. All of them said that the village had become an ideal village today only because of Nilimarani Samanta.

On this occasion, two people were awarded the ‘Nilimarani Samaj Seva Samman’ to Rambai Das of Bargarh and Professor Dr. Chinmay Bijay Kumar Mohanty. The award included the Neelimarani Charitable Trust certificate of appreciation, a garland, a bouquet of flowers and a sum of fifty thousand rupees. The two social workers were very happy to be honoured.

The program was presided over by Dr. Itirani Samanta, the editor of Kadambini, Kunikatha and the Secretary of Kalarabanka High School and English Medium School. Himansu Sekhar Khatua, the Chief Managing Director of KalingaTV, Lawyer Manoranjan Pradhan, Nirupama Samanta, the Principal of two local schools, School consultant and Durga Charan Samanta, the CEO of Nilimarani Charitable Trust also participated in this event.
