NIA: Car used in Haryana explosives and arms seizure case linked to Pakistan-based terrorist Rinda seized

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday seized a vehicle related to the seizure of explosives along with arms and ammunition from the possession of four people linked to Pakistan-based ‘listed terrorist’ Harvinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda. Leader of banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) in Haryana in 2022.

The vehicle has been seized under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967 as ‘proceeds of terrorism’ in the NIA case.

The agency had registered the case after taking over the investigation from Haryana Police on May 24, 2022, following the seizure of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and arms and ammunition at Bastara Toll Plaza in Madhuban, Haryana in May 2022.

On May 5, 2022, Haryana Police recovered three IEDs, a pistol with two magazines and Rs 1.30 lakh in cash from Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, Amandeep Singh alias Deepa, Parminder Singh alias Pinder and Bhupinder Singh.
He had stored the terrorist hardware consignment in a specially designed cavity in his Innova MUV for delivery to Adilabad, Telangana on the instructions of Rinda, leader of banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

During investigation, it was found that the accused persons Gurpreet, Amandeep, Akash, Sukhbir and Jarmalpreet were involved in several consignments of arms, ammunition, explosives and narcotics sent from Pakistan through drones by terrorist Harvinder Singh Sandhu to pre-determined locations.
