New Uttarakhand Congress executive committee announced.

Dehradun. After a long wait, the Congress has announced the new executive committee for the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee. Under the leadership of State President Ganesh Godiyal, a new team has been formed with office-bearers appointed on a large scale to strengthen the organization and address upcoming political challenges. A list released late Thursday night by party General Secretary KC Venugopal includes the names of 24 vice-presidents, 36 general secretaries, and 107 secretaries. Additionally, 41 senior party leaders, including former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, have been appointed as members of the state executive committee.
The announcement of the new executive committee brings an end to the anticipation that had persisted for several months. Ganesh Godiyal assumed the role of Uttarakhand Congress President in November of last year. Since then, there had been ongoing discussions regarding the formation of a new team at various levels of the organization. Party workers and leaders had long been awaiting this list. Now, with the formation of the executive committee, it is expected that organizational activities will gain new momentum.
The announced executive committee reflects an effort to provide representation to various regions of the state, diverse social sections, and both experienced and active leaders within the organization. The party leadership believes that a balanced team with broad-based participation will play a crucial role in strengthening the organization at the grassroots level. The new executive committee aims to infuse fresh energy into the organization by entrusting responsibilities to relatively young and active workers alongside experienced leaders.
Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat has been included in the state executive committee. Apart from him, 41 other senior party leaders have also been appointed as members of the committee. Political observers believe that the Congress will benefit from the experience and organizational insight of these senior leaders while formulating future strategies. The executive committee plays a pivotal role in key policy decisions and organizational activities at the state level.
Godavari Thapli has been entrusted with the crucial responsibility of Treasurer in the new executive committee. The post of Treasurer is considered vital for managing the organization’s finances, resources, and economic activities. The party leadership has placed its trust in experienced leadership for this responsibility. Twenty-four vice-presidents have been appointed to the executive committee with the aim of establishing coordination across various sectors of the organization and assisting the state president. Meanwhile, 36 general secretaries are likely to be assigned distinct organizational responsibilities. Additionally, by appointing 107 secretaries, the Congress has adopted a strategy to energize the organization down to the district and regional levels. The appointment of such a large number of secretaries is seen as a move to expand the organization’s reach and strengthen party activities in every area.
Political analysts believe that strengthening the organization in Uttarakhand is crucial for the Congress in view of upcoming election preparations. Over the past few years, the party has undergone a continuous process of organizational restructuring and leadership changes. Consequently, the new executive committee is expected to boost the morale of party workers and provide a new direction to the organization.
The Congress leadership states that the new team will activate the organization across all districts of the state, strengthen the party at the booth level, and effectively raise issues of public concern among the people. Furthermore, the new executive committee will be responsible for accelerating membership drives, public outreach programs, training camps, and various political campaigns.
According to party sources, the formation of the executive committee prioritized organizational experience, regional balance, social representation, and the inclusion of active workers. However, the reactions of certain leaders and workers following the announcement will be closely watched, as the possibility of discontent arising from such a major organizational reshuffle cannot be ruled out.
With the formation of the new executive committee, the Uttarakhand Congress will now gear up to intensify organizational expansion, public outreach campaigns, and political activities. The party leadership hopes that the new team will provide a strong foundation for the organization and inject new momentum into the Congress’s political activity in the state. The party’s future strategy will largely depend on the working style and organizational performance of this new executive committee in the times ahead.
