New bride did a scandal, husband was stunned
Hamirpur: A young man in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh has lodged a complaint of fraud regarding his own marriage. The young man alleges that a few hours after the wedding, his bride fled with jewelry and cash. In this case, the young man has also accused a person of taking money and cheating in exchange for getting him married. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
According to the news agency report, complainant Jitesh Sharma told the police that a man named Baldev Sharma had taken Rs 1.50 lakh from him in the name of getting him married. The marriage was solemnized with full rituals in a temple in Sahi village on 13 December 2024. The marriage was conducted in the temple due to the unavailability of the girl’s birth certificate for court marriage.
Soon after the marriage, Jitesh’s bride Babita made an excuse of her mother’s ill health and asked to go to Yamunanagar in Haryana. She said she would return in two days, but before leaving she took all her jewellery and some cash with her. For a few days Jitesh tried to contact his wife, but she stopped picking up the phone.
Meanwhile, the person who arranged the marriage, Baldev Sharma, also started avoiding the matter. When Jitesh contacted him and asked him to return the jewellery and money, he refused to help. Troubled by this, Jitesh lodged a complaint with the police. In this case, Hamirpur SP Bhagat Singh said that a case of fraud and cheating has been registered on the basis of Jitesh Sharma’s complaint. The police is investigating the entire matter in depth and has started searching for the accused woman and other suspects.
