Naxalite commander killed, weapons recovered from encounter site
Kanker. Three Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces in the forest of Karriguta village on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. He told that the security forces of Chhattisgarh along with the anti-Naxal force ‘Grey Hound’ of Telangana are on anti-Naxal operation in the border areas of both the states.
He told that when the joint team was in the forests of Karriguta village of Kanker, the security forces had an encounter with the Naxalites. He said that three Naxalites were killed in this encounter and weapons were also recovered from the spot. Police officials said that the operation against Naxalites is going on in the area.
On April 2, a fierce encounter took place between security forces and Naxalites in Gangalur area of Bijapur. The police had achieved great success in this encounter. In the encounter, the soldiers killed 13 armed Maoists. A large amount of weapons, medicines and items of daily need were also recovered from them. Police have so far identified 5 Naxalites out of these 13 while the remaining Maoists are being identified.
