Nashik: Action is also being taken against parents who give nylon manja to children

Maharashtra: After taking action against those selling banned manja to prevent the use of nylon manja during the kite festival, the city police has now started a round of direct action against the children flying kites with this manja and the parents buying them nylon manja. Those flying kites with nylon manja are being searched all over the city and cases have been registered against many children and parents in different police stations. The system has made preparations to take this action on a large scale on the day of Makar Sankranti. The use of nylon manja during the kite festival is becoming dangerous for vehicle owners as well as animals and birds. Many vehicle owners have been injured in the city and rural areas due to this manja. The police have banned the sale, storage and use of nylon manja, which is harmful to the environment.

In such a situation, cases have been registered against many sellers selling it secretly. Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik had given instructions to take immediate deportation action against those selling banned manja. According to this, deportation action has been taken against about 75 sellers so far. The scope of the action taken to stop the sale of nylon manja has now been extended to users and parents who buy this manja for their children. A session has been started to register cases against minors and their parents found carrying banned nylon manja for kite flying. Under this, cases have been registered against seven to eight parents in Panchvati, Adgaon, Uttamnagar, Ambad and Deolali Camp police stations. During this action, cases have been registered in various police stations against Harshad Borude (23, Peth Road), Prem Dhonge (23, Ektanagar, Borgad), Tanveer Shah (25, Nanavali, Old Nashik), Shahbad Shah (26, opposite Nanavali Dargah), Sunil Madarki (31, Kasturbanagar, Holaram Colony), Tauqeer Sheikh (24, Ashok Marg), Prathamesh Dabhade (22, Pawannagar), Manoj Shinde. (25, Pathardi Phata), Harsh Paithankar (23) and Kunal Pawar (26, both of Wavrenagar), Darshan Choudhary (19, Shubham Park, Ambad), Amol Kole (25, Amrapali Slum, Jail Road), Aniket Pawar (24, Deolali Camp), Akash Pimpale (21, Deolali Camp), and Dnyaneshwar Sable (19, Indiranagar) for flying kites using nylon strings. Nylon fishing nets, spinning reels and other material have been seized from the persons concerned.
