Nanded: A cash-for-votes scam has surfaced in the Dharmabad Municipal Council elections.

Maharashtra: On Friday (December 20), as voting was underway for the Dharmabad Municipal Council elections, several shocking incidents unfolded in the town, triggering a political uproar. Allegations surfaced that voters were being confined in a marriage hall and money was being distributed to influence their votes, causing a stir in political circles. Videos of these incidents went viral on social media. According to sources, voters were allegedly taken to the Inani Mangal Karyalaya (marriage hall) in the Bannali area of Dharmabad, where money was being distributed by a BJP candidate. Eyewitnesses claimed that approximately 100 to 150 voters were brought to the location. However, a commotion erupted during the alleged distribution, and the situation quickly spiraled out of control. Some voters raised an alarm and alleged that they were being forcibly held inside the hall.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the police promptly arrived at the scene and intervened, freeing the voters from the premises.
Tensions also escalated in Ward Number 8, where a direct confrontation occurred between political leaders at a polling booth. Poonam Pawar of the BJP and senior leaders Kailash Gorthekar and Shivraj Patil Hotalkar of the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction/Sharad Pawar faction) came face-to-face, leading to a heated argument.
