Nagpur: Mini bus hits scooter at traffic signal, college going girl dies
Nagpur: A university student died and her sister was seriously injured after a speeding mini bus and her scooter collided at a traffic light in Imambara area. According to an official, the bus driver left the spot after the accident that occurred on Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as Shreya Jeevan Rokade (18), resident of Ganesh Nagar. His sister Sakshi Rokade (23) was undergoing treatment at the Government Hospital and Faculty of Medicine. Shreya, a first-year student of Raisoni College, and her sister were on their way to the university when the accident occurred, the police officer said. When they stopped at a lamppost near Ashok Chowk around 9.20 pm, expecting the lamppost to turn green, a minibus hit them from behind and threw them off the scooter. The official said Shreya suffered serious head injuries, while her sister suffered injuries on her legs. Fearing the anger of the people, the bus driver left the place, however, some passers-by took both the sisters to the hospital, where Shreya died shortly after admission.
