Nagaland: SBI distributed Rs 25 lakh to Anganwadi centers.

State Bank of India (SBI), Regional Business Office (RBO), Dimapur, distributed Rs. 25 lakh to Anganwadi Centres across the districts of Phek, Peren, Niuland, Dimapur and Chümoukedima under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
As part of the programme, cheques of Rs. 1 lakh each were presented to 25 Anganwadi Centres in Nagaland to support infrastructure upgradation and improve childcare facilities.
The cheques were formally handed over by Surabhi Bhattacharyya, Deputy General Manager, B&O AO, Jorhat, in the presence of Hubert A.S. Wungshim, Regional Manager, RBO Dimapur, along with other bank officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhattacharyya emphasized SBI’s continued commitment towards community development and inclusive growth, particularly in strengthening essential social infrastructure. Wungshim reiterated that SBI would continue to support meaningful initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of children and women in the state.
Representatives from different districts expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiary Anganwadi Centres. They included Tshepezou Thopi (Phek), Kikangle (Peren), Melody (Niuland), Joyce Wonchibeni Lotha (Dimapur) and Melody N. Lotha (Chümoukedima). They highlighted the positive impact the CSR support would have on early childhood care, nutrition and overall development at the grassroots level.
The programme concluded with appreciation from the beneficiaries and reaffirmation of SBI’s role as a responsible corporate citizen dedicated to social upliftment.
