Nabin expressed support for BJP in Assam and praised PM Modi

Assam: Speaking to reporters, Nabin said that the people of Assam have strong faith in the BJP government, which he claimed was reflected in the growing public support during the campaign. He said, “This is a clear indication that the BJP government will be formed again in Assam.”
He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on the 732nd episode of Mann Ki Baat, stating that the Prime Minister assured citizens of stability amid global uncertainties and emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing people’s concerns.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah intensified the party’s attack on the Congress during a rally in Nalbari, accusing it of changing Assam’s demographics for vote-bank politics. He alleged that previous Congress governments allowed illegal infiltration for decades.
Shah said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the state has taken strong measures, including reclaiming more than 1.25 lakh acres of land from alleged encroachers. Setting the election tone, Shah said that if the BJP is re-elected, it will identify and expel “every infiltrator” from the country within the next five years.
According to the Election Commission of India, voting for all 126 assembly seats in Assam will be held in a single phase on April 9, with counting taking place on May 4.
