Mumbai: Saniya Iyappan started out as a dancer and established herself as an actress. She won hearts with her acting. She also won awards. Some facts about her… She became a sensation on television at a young age… by becoming the winner of the reality show Super Dancer! Later, she participated in the shows Dhee 2 and Dhee 4 and gained popularity and film opportunities. Saniya Iyappan hails from Kochi, Kerala. She studied at Nalanda Public School.

She entered the Malayalam film industry as a child actress and became a heroine with the film ‘Queen’. The film won her the ‘Filmfare’ and ‘Vanitha Film Award’ for Best Debut Artist. Later, she worked in Mohanlal’s ‘Lucifer’ and won the ‘South Filmfare Award’ for Best Supporting Actress. After that, she was limited to guest roles in several films like ‘The Priest’, ‘Pretham 2’, ‘Salute’ and ‘Saturday Night’.

The horror film ‘Krishnankutty Pani Thudangi’, which was made by relying on the script, turned out to be a super duper hit. Similarly, ‘Irugappatru’ and ‘Sorgavasal’ were also well received as feel-good movies. Both these films are currently streaming on Netflix.

She took a break to impress people with memorable roles instead of a few opportunities. During that break, she ventured into the web world and worked in a few music albums and short films called ‘Beloved’ and ‘Strings’.
