Murder for tea, husband attacked wife with an axe, sensation spread

Balod: In a dispute over making tea in Balod, Chhattisgarh, the husband chopped his wife with an axe. The incident took place in village Sangli of Kanwar Chowki area. The family brought the injured woman to the district hospital Dhamtari, where the woman died during treatment.

The name of the deceased is being told as Ishwari Sahu (35), while the name of the accused husband is Kewal Sahu (40). They have 2 children, a boy and a girl. The boy studies in class 6 and the girl studies in class 4. After the incident, the accused himself reached the police station and surrendered.

In a statement given to the police, Saraswati Sahu, mother of the deceased Ishwari Sahu, said that Kewal Sahu asked his wife Ishwari Sahu to make tea, when Ishwari Sahu went inside the kitchen, husband Kewal Sahu locked the kitchen door from inside.

Both the children kept knocking on the door. They also tried to open the door. Even after this the door did not open. Ishwari Sahu kept screaming inside the kitchen. Kewal Sahu attacked his wife with a tangia.

The boy’s parents were informed about this. After the attack, the husband himself opened the door and fled from the house. Ishwari Sahu was brought to the Dhamtari district hospital in an injured state for treatment. Ishwari Sahu died during treatment.
