Mumbai: Both vehicles badly damaged in road accident

Maharashtra: A major road accident occurred on the Eastern Freeway in Mumbai late Tuesday night, involving two SUVs. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the accident. Chaos reigned at the scene, and footage of the incident is rapidly going viral on social media.
According to reports, the accident occurred late at night when two SUVs, traveling at high speed, collided with each other. The force of the collision was so severe that the front ends of both vehicles were severely damaged, leaving visible marks on the road.
One of the vehicles involved in the accident was a BYD Atto 3 electric compact SUV. The vehicle was seen parked on the side of the road, its front end completely mangled. Viral photos and videos showed its hood, headlights, and bumper severely dented and broken. The severity of the collision can be gauged from the fact that a nearby road safety railing was also damaged.
The other vehicle, a white Hyundai Venue SUV, suffered even more serious damage in the accident. The viral video shows the vehicle’s front end completely shattered. The front wheels and rear end also suffered significant damage. The vehicle moved forward for some distance on the road after the collision, indicating the severity of the accident.
After the incident, bystanders immediately attempted to control the situation and informed the relevant authorities. Initial information suggests that the accident may have been caused by high speed and possibly a loss of control, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Police and traffic department teams arrived at the scene and began the process of removing both vehicles and restoring traffic. The accident briefly disrupted traffic on the Eastern Freeway, resulting in long queues of vehicles.
People are shocked by the condition of both SUVs in the viral video on social media. Many users have raised questions about road safety and speeding. It has also become a topic of discussion how such severe damage occurred despite vehicles equipped with modern safety features.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident may have been caused by speeding and possibly a wrong lane change. However, police have stated that the actual cause will only be clear after a thorough investigation.
At present, both vehicles have been removed with the help of a crane and taken to the police station, and the investigation is ongoing. Police are also investigating whether the negligence of any driver contributed to the accident.
This accident has once again raised serious questions about safety and traffic discipline on Mumbai’s busy roads. The administration has appealed to the public to exercise caution on the roads and adhere to the prescribed speed limits to avoid such accidents.
