Mumbai: Bomb threat sent to 8 institutions on e-mail, security increased in the city
Mumbai: In a frightening incident, at least eight prominent institutions across Mumbai received bomb threat e-mails on Friday. According to the report, the list of prominent places includes Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum in Colaba and Nehru Science Center in Worli. According to a PTI report, the mail also contained a threat to attack Byculla Zoo. It is reported that the museum received the first mail, followed by other institutions also receiving similar mails. Given the atmosphere of fear, authorities have stepped up security measures at important establishments in the city, while police have investigated the reported locations with bomb detection and disposal squads. Based on the complaint filed by the museum management, an offense was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against unknown persons at the Colaba Police Station.
