Mumbai: Auto rickshaw driver arrested on charges of smuggling ganja
Maharashtra: Parksite police have arrested a rickshaw driver from Ghatkopar area on charges of ganja smuggling. Police have seized a huge amount of ganja from the possession of the said rickshaw driver and the police are further investigating the case.
Parties were organised at several places in the city on Tuesday to welcome the New Year. Tight police security was put in place in Mumbai to prevent any untoward incident. Parksite police received information that a rickshaw driver was selling ganja in Amritnagar area of Ghatkopar. Accordingly, a team from Parksite police station reached the spot. While inspecting the area, police noticed that rickshaw driver Jafar Ansari (44) was moving around suspiciously. Police immediately took him into custody. When police searched him, 150 grams of ganja was found from his possession. Police have registered a case in this regard and arrested the rickshaw driver and are further investigating the case.
