Mumbai: About 400 kg of beef seized, 4 people arrested

Mumbai: The Mumbai police have seized around 400 kg of prohibited animal meat being transported in a tempo and arrested four persons in this connection, an official said on Tuesday. Acting on a tip-off, the police laid a trap and intercepted the vehicle in the Kandivali area here on Sunday.

About 400 kg of cow meat was seized from the tempo and four persons, including the owner of a beef shop, were arrested, a Kandivali police official said. It is yet to be ascertained where they got the meat from. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant legal provisions. One more person is being searched in the case, police said.
