MP: The Union Agriculture Minister says, “I am indebted to you, my friends.”

Madhya Pradesh: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the Golden Jubilee Alumni Meet at his old school, Government Model Higher Secondary School, on Sunday and became emotional while reminiscing about his school days. He said that after so many years, the memories of the old days have been revived. He added that he cannot express in words the affection and love embedded in every brick of the Model School. Many memories are coming back today. I am happy that our school is one of the number one schools in India. He also sang the song “Ehsaan mere dil pe tumhara hai doston…” (Your kindness is etched on my heart, friends…).

He also participated in the Platinum Jubilee program at Gandhi Medical College and addressed the gathering. Singh said that there were only five medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh.

No new medical college was opened after 1965-66. Now imagine, if the same number of doctors continued to graduate, how would such a large population be treated? Keeping this concern in mind, as soon as I became Chief Minister, I first started the Sagar Medical College. After that, I started a whole series of medical colleges, and today there are approximately 30 medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh.
