MP: The STF chased the suspects for 14 hours and seized 600 kg of cannabis in Anuppur.

Madhya Pradesh: Police said the State Special Task Force (STF) chased a truck carrying 600 kilograms of cannabis for 14 hours and apprehended it in the forests of Anuppur on Thursday.

SP Rajesh Singh Bhadauria told the media that they had received a tip-off about a truck coming from Sambalpur in Odisha, carrying cannabis into Madhya Pradesh. Upon receiving the information, SDG Pankaj Srivastava formed two teams.

Tracking the consignment and its route through the state proved difficult. Later, the two teams were divided into five groups. One team received a lead, and as the truck entered the state border around 4 am, the team began pursuing it. After a long 14-hour chase, the truck was intercepted in the forests of Anuppur.

Initially, when the truck was searched, police found no incriminating evidence. Using cutters and other tools, they managed to open a hidden compartment where the cannabis was concealed. Police said the consignment was hidden in a “Pushpa style” manner.
