MP: Over 80 parrots found dead on the banks of the Narmada River in Khargone

Madhya Pradesh: More than 80 parrots were found dead on the banks of the Narmada River in Khargone district, causing concern among residents. According to reports, the incident occurred in Barwaha, where more than 80 carcasses were found near an aqueduct bridge in the past 48 hours.

Villagers reported the sudden deaths of the birds and informed authorities. A team from the Veterinary Department and the Wildlife Department arrived at the scene to investigate the sudden increase in parrot deaths.

After investigation, authorities confirmed that bird flu was not the cause of death. They cited food poisoning as the main cause of death due to improper diet. During the examination, small pebbles and rice grains were found in the stomachs of several birds.

According to experts, when birds lack proper food, they eat rice grains or small pebbles. Consuming pesticide-tainted grains can be fatal for these birds.
