Motorola Edge 50 launched in India; offers Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, IP68, MIL 810 durability

Motorola has finally launched the 4th smartphone in the Edge 50 series in India. The newly launched Motorola Edge 50 gets an IP68 rating along with MIL 810H certification, teased the company in its multiple teasers. The company claims to have passed the device over 30 tests for extreme temperature, dust, moisture and drops.

The Motorola Edge 50 offers a curved 6.7″ pOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The display panel is protected by Corning Gorilla 5 and it features 32MP front-facing camera.

When it comes to the processor, the Motorola Edge 50 is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition which has 2.5 GHz Cortex-A710 core. The RAM+ Storage combination offered in the device is just one (8GB RAM + 256GB storage). In the rear camera department, we get a 50MP primary camera that is equipped with Sony LYT-700C sensor along with a 10MP telephoto lens (3x optical zoom) and a 13MP ultrawide shooter. All three cameras are placed on a rectangular camera bump on the back panel.

The Motorola Edge 50 boots on Android 14 with Hello UI on top. The company promises two years of Android update along with 3 years of security patches.

Speaking about colours, the device is offered in Jungle Green, Peach Fuzz as well as Koala Grey colours. The device is priced at Rs 27,999 for the single 8GB + 256GB variant. The sale of the device will be on e-commerce platform as well as in offline stores from August 8.
