Mother and son who went to eat golgappas got hit by a train, 1 died
Khanna: In Khanna, late in the evening, a mother and son crossing the railway line to eat golgappas were hit by a train. The son died on the spot in the accident while the mother is in critical condition. The accident took place near Lalheri Road Railway Flyover. The deceased has been identified as Karan (24), a resident of Nandi Colony, while the seriously injured mother has been identified as Kulwinder Kaur, wife of Ranjit Singh. The deceased youth was the only brother of three sisters. Dr. Aman Jassal, posted on emergency duty at the Civil Hospital, referred the seriously injured woman after first aid. According to the information, Kulwinder Kaur was ill for some time. Late in the evening, she had come to a private hospital with her son to give a blood sample. When the hospital staff said that the sample report would be given in some time, the mother and son crossed the railway line nearby and went out to eat golgappas. As soon as the mother and son started crossing the railway line, they were hit by a high speed train coming from Delhi to Ludhiana. The collision was so strong that both of them fell far away. Both were brought to Civil Hospital Khanna for treatment, where doctors declared Karan dead, while his mother was referred to Chandigarh after first aid. Dr. Aman Jassal told that when Karan was brought to the hospital, he was dead, while Kulwinder Kaur’s condition was very critical, who was referred after first aid. He told that the body has been kept in the mortuary and the railway police has been informed.
