Their bodies were found at their residence in ‘Dream Housing Society’ in Sector 6 of Kamothe on Wednesday evening. The police had initially registered a case of accidental death and sent the bodies to the government hospital for post-mortem.

The police officer said that according to the initial investigation, 2 people had come to the residential society with Jitendra. Both of them beat the woman and her son with some weapon, due to which they died. An FIR has been registered against the accused under Sections 101 (murder) and 3 (5) (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). The accused have been identified as Sanjyot Dhodke and Shubham Narayani, both 19 years old.

According to reports, after committing the murder, they left the gas knob of the flat open before fleeing. Their intention was to make the murder look like an accident due to gas leakage. Police received a complaint of gas smell coming from the flat at 4 am on January 1 from Dreams Society in Kamothe area. The police team reached the spot and broke the door with the help of the fire brigade, where they found the bodies of Jitendra Jaggi and his mother.
