Monsoon to reach Odisha in 2 days, temperature declines by 5°C
Bhubaneswar: The monsoon is all set to touch the Odisha coast in two to three days said the Meteorological Centre on Monday. The State is likely to get some relief from the heat as the Southwest Monsoon is expected to hit the state by June 21, 2023.
The local MeT office situated here in Bhubaneswar further added that there has been a noticeable drop in the day time temperatures in Odisha.
The capital city of Bhubaneswar received heavy rain with thunderstorm and lightning at mid-night on Monday leading to a remarkable relief in the sweltering heat.
Today in Puri where the suna besha of Lord Janannath and his siblings is underway, there have been partly cloudy skies since morning. There has been a pleasant breeze from south-southwest direction. The wind speed are at around 10 to 11 km per hour.
It is worth mentioning that the humidity at 2:30 pm was recorded at 66% and the temperature was measured at around 34.2 degrees Celsius.
People across the State have been advised to take precautionary measures like avoiding heat exposure during peak hours, staying hydrated, and caring for vulnerable persons including old, children, sick, and pregnant women.
