Monitoring the ticket sales on hourly basis, Railway operated 5 Unreserved trains to Prayag from NDLS on Saturday evening

Prayagraj : During the evening hours on Saturday, Railway operated 5 Unreserved trains to Prayag from the New Delhi station, catering to the surge in crowds for the weekend. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishanaw instructed CRB and GMs of NR, NCR and NER to monitor crowd and ticket sales. Based on real time monitoring, Northern Railway planned special trains. Similarly NCR and NER planned special trains from Prayag raj, Jhushi and Naini. Continuous monitoring of ticket sales and crowd is being done at the highest level.

On saturday, during the evening hours, ticket sales for Prayagraj were higher than the normal.
From 18.00 hrs to 19.00 hrs, 2375 tickets were sold for Prayagraj.Considering the demand, Unreserved trains for Prayag were operated on an hourly basis.
Train No. 0470 departed at 19.00 hrs.

From 19.00 hrs to 20.00 hrs, 2950 tickets were sold. Train No. 04074 departed at 20.00 hrs.

From 20.00 hrs to 21.00 hrs, 3429 tickets were sold, Train 04080 departed at 20.58 hrs.

From 21.00 hrs to 22.00 hrs, 2662 tickets were sold, 04082 departed at 21.58 hrs.

From 22.00 hrs to 23.00 hrs, 1689 tickets were sold, Train 04084 departed at 23.15 hrs.

Mahakumbh: The increased train service was in response to the large number of pilgrims traveling to Prayag for the Mahakumbh 2025

Convenience: Indian Railways is making constant efforts to provide convenient travel options for pilgrims visiting the Mahakumbh.
