Mohali: Woman and her son arrested for immigration fraud

Mohali: Police have arrested a woman and her son for allegedly duping several people in the name of sending them abroad. An SUV, 500 grams of gold and Rs 7 lakh have been recovered from them. The suspects Arpana Sargota (42) and her son Kunal Sargota (23) are owners of Zenon Law Office located in Sector 106. On February 22, Phase 11 police had registered a case against them under sections 406, 420 of IPC and Immigration Act.

Police said that Aparna’s husband Sanjay Singh has already been arrested in several cases. Aparna is said to be a beauty pageant winner. Deputy Superintendent of Police (City-2) Harsimran Singh Bal said that Aparna and her son have at least 25 cases registered against them under the Immigration Act and the police are looking for them. On February 21, the police registered a case against 15 people, including six women, who were associated with an immigration consultancy that had defrauded people of lakhs of rupees in the name of sending them abroad.
