Mohali: B.Tech student dies after being hit by a truck

Mohali: A 20-year-old B.Tech student of a private college in Janjheri died while his friend was injured when a speeding truck hit his bike near Airport Chowk on Saturday night. The victim Ashish Manhas, a native of Hoshiarpur and currently living in Sant Majra, was going to Zirakpur on his bike when the speeding truck crushed his head.

In this accident, pillion rider Harsindra has been injured and has been admitted to the hospital. Police said that the truck driver has been identified as Suresh Kumar, a resident of Mandi. On the complaint of the victim’s father Omkar Singh, a case of negligent driving has been registered against the truck driver at Sohana police station.
