Patna (IANS) | Some miscreants set a roadside dhaba (eatery) on fire in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district on Thursday. Two people, including a minor daughter of the dhaba owner, were burnt alive in the fire. Both were sleeping when the miscreants set the dhaba on fire. The fire engulfed 7 more shops located on Bariarpur NH. The incident took place under Nagar police station area at 2 am.

Kiran Devi, wife of dhaba owner Baiju Shah said that two people came to our eatery and inquired about my husband. He had covered his face with a towel. I didn’t like his intentions.

So, I told him that he had gone somewhere. They came again on Thursday around 2 am and set our shops on fire. My five-year-old daughter Bharti Kumari and staff member Chandan Kumar were asleep, due to which they failed to escape. Both were burnt to death. Me and my elder daughter somehow saved ourselves.

Baiju Shah was found lying unconscious some distance away from the shop. Property dispute is said to be the cause of the incident. An official of the city police station said that two bodies have been recovered from there. Efforts are on to identify the accused.
