Minda Corp signs licensing deal with China’s Sanco
NEW DELHI New Delhi: Auto component maker Minda Corporation Ltd on Wednesday said it has signed a technology licensing agreement with China’s Sanco Connecting Technology to offer electrical distribution system solutions for the electric vehicle market. Sanco Connecting Technology is a pioneer in EV connection systems. Under the agreement, Minda Corp and Sanco will locally develop EV connecting systems, sockets and accessories along with charging gun assembly, bus bar, cell contact system, power distribution unit (PDU) and battery distribution unit (BDU), the company said in a statement.
“This agreement will enhance Minda Corporation’s product portfolio offering in the growing EV industry in the areas of Electrical Distribution System (EDS).” Commenting on the partnership, Minda Corporation Executive Director Akash Minda said, “By offering new-age EV solutions, we will enhance the overall kit value across vehicle segments, with a commitment to achieve successful localisation while delivering greater value for our customers.”
Zhijian Zeng, Chairman of Sanco Connecting Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., said the company has chosen Minda Corporation as a strategic partner to expand its global presence. “This collaboration will significantly expand Sanco’s presence in India’s growing EV market,” Zeng said. By leveraging Minda Corporation’s strong relationships with global automakers and extensive local production and engineering capabilities, “we aim to provide world-class, technology-enabled solutions to Indian OEMs,” Zeng added.
