Microsoft: Launches its first global technology center in Arabia

Technology: Microsoft has launched a major initiative to expand its presence in the UAE by opening its first global technology development centre in the Arab world. The centre aims to become an integral part of Microsoft’s global network of innovation centres strategically located in key regions of the world. The new facility in Abu Dhabi will focus on fostering cutting-edge innovation, developing artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and cybersecurity solutions.

The initiative is part of Microsoft’s ongoing investment to transform the UAE into a leading global technology incubator. Additionally, the centre aims to foster a thriving technology ecosystem in collaboration with local partner G42. The development centre will not only focus on developing cutting-edge technologies but will also work to attract the best talent from around the world to solve critical challenges facing key sectors around the world.

Local leaders emphasise that Abu Dhabi is becoming a hub of innovation supported by a strong digital infrastructure and open global stance. The Microsoft CEO expressed his strong commitment to ensuring that everyone can leverage disruptive technologies to improve local business opportunities.
