MG Comet EV available for Rs 5 lakh

New Delhi New Delhi: JSW MG Motors India has launched a battery-as-a-service program for two of its EVs in India, Comet EV and ZS EV. The company first introduced this initiative in its Windsor EV. It helps customers buy the vehicle at a lower price and pay separately for battery usage based on the kilometres driven. Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said, “With BaaS, we have created a platform for easy ownership, making our EVs more accessible than ever.

Given the strong response received by Windsor under the BaaS program, we are now extending this benefit to our popular EV models, Comet and ZS. I am confident that this unique ownership model will further boost EV adoption in the country.” Let’s take a look at the specifications of this initiative as well as the battery rental cost of ZS EV and Comet EV. The MG Comet EV is now available at Rs 4.99 lakh with a battery rental cost of Rs 2.5 per kilometre. The Comet EV is one of the most affordable EVs available in the country. The Battery-as-a-Service (B-as-a-S) program offers services such as 60 per cent assured buyback value after three years, payment per kilometre. The program also offers a low acquisition cost of the electric vehicle. The MG Comet EV is equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 230 kilometres on a single charge and fast charging option.

The MG ZS EV is now available at Rs 13.99 lakh with a battery rental cost of Rs 4.5 per kilometre. The ZS EV primarily competes with the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV in its segment. The ZS EV is powered by a 50.3 kWh battery pack that has a claimed range of 461 km on a single charge and comes with safety features like Level-2 ADAS, six airbags, and ABS with EBD.
