Medak: Water released from Singur to meet the Yasangi needs of farmers

Sangareddy: To meet the needs of Yasangi river in Medak district, river authorities have started releasing water from Manjira from Singur to Ghanpur anicut. The workers have commissioned the Central Hydroelectric Plant to release 2.667 cusecs of water downstream. Junior engineer Mahipal Reddy said they will release 0.35 tmcft of water from the project in the next 36 hours to monitor the Ghapur anicut. The Ghanpur project in Medak district comprised approximately 40,000 acres of land. To meet the needs of farmers of Medak, irrigation officials will release water from the left and right channels of Ghanpur Anicut. The Singur multipurpose project had 24,775 tmc ft of water against the total storage capacity of 29,91 tmc ft. Meanwhile, irrigation officials were also releasing 150 cusecs of water from the left canal of Singur to meet the yasangi needs of farmers in Sangareddy district. The total release from the project is estimated at 3187 tmcft water, which includes water released to Mission Bagiratha, HMWS and others.
