Mayor inspects newly constructed community centre in Yamunanagar

Mayor Suman Bahmani inspected the newly constructed Sant Gadge Ambedkar Bhawan in Gadhauli village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Yamunanagar-Jagadhri Municipal Corporation (MCYJ). This community center has been built at an estimated cost of approximately ₹2.37 crore.
During the inspection, the Mayor reviewed the facilities available at the center and issued necessary directives to the officials. She toured the large hall, guest rooms, dressing rooms, caretaker’s room, kitchen, and other amenities, all of which have been designed to host religious, social, and family events.
She also sought information from the officials regarding the quality of construction and the condition of the facilities, instructing them to ensure that all necessary amenities are made available to visitors.
Bahmani stated, “The Municipal Corporation aims to provide improved community facilities across various localities of the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri, enabling residents to conveniently organize social, cultural, and family events.”
She further added that the construction of this community center would benefit the residents of Gadhauli village and the surrounding areas, as they would no longer have to travel long distances to organize their events. The Mayor directed the officials and the concerned Municipal Councilor to establish appropriate user charges for events hosted at the center. She emphasized that distinct fee structures should be established for weddings, birthday celebrations, engagement ceremonies, condolence meetings, and other social or religious gatherings, in order to ensure the proper maintenance and efficient operation of the facility.
She underscored the fact that community centers constitute a vital component of a city’s social fabric, and their proper utilization and maintenance are absolutely essential.
“MCYJ officials must discharge their duties with complete responsibility to ensure that the center’s facilities remain available to the public for the long term,” she said.
She further instructed the officials to pay special attention to sanitation, electricity supply, water availability, and other basic amenities, thereby ensuring that visitors do not face any inconvenience. On this occasion, Municipal Councilor Santosh Rani, Assistant Engineer Mrinal Jaiswal, and Junior Engineer Manish Kumar were also present.
