Married woman commits suicide by hanging herself, in-laws arrested
Rajnandgaon. In the case of suicide of a married woman in village Khairbana of Rajnandgaon district, the police have arrested her husband, brother-in-law and mother-in-law. They are accused of harassing the woman for dowry. The matter is of Chhuikhadan police station area. According to the information, police said that Pushpa Sahu, resident of Khairbana, had committed suicide by hanging herself in her house. Investigation revealed that she was married to Shriram Sahu in 2017. During interrogation of family members and nearby people, it was revealed that the accused had been harassing the woman for dowry since marriage. Investigation revealed that the accused husband Shriram Sahu, brother-in-law Bhupesh Sahu, father-in-law Nandlal Sahu and mother-in-law Parvati Sahu were continuously harassing her for not bringing items in dowry. Fed up with this, Pushpa even went to her maternal home, but after social pressure, she came back to her in-laws’ house. Even after convincing, the actions of the in-laws did not stop. Troubled by this, Pushpa committed suicide. After this, the police arrested the deceased’s husband, brother-in-law, mother-in-law and father-in-law.
