Mancherial: Student wins Bhishma Vashishtha Award

Mancherial: Gitte Karthik, a student of Telangana State Minority Residential Junior College (TSMRJC)-Chennur, won the Bheeshma Vasistha Award instituted by Vande Bharat Organization for his excellent performance in trekking and mountaineering. The award was received at a program celebrated in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

Karthik was selected for the award for his excellence in various adventure activities. Traveled to the toughest places in the dense forests of Sikkim, as well as hoisted the national flag on the top of a 5.300 meter high peak in the Himalayas in 2023. Took a bag which weighed 15 kg. He was given training in tracking and running.

Received gold medal in the World Youth Water Rappelling Championship held in 2022.
