Malappuram football star detained at Saudi airport, investigation ongoing

MALAPPURAM: A Malayali footballer from Malappuram has been detained at Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. The officials have also seized security stickers used in liquor bottles from the footballer. The professional footballer reached Saudi to represent a Malayali team in a friendly football match organized by some expatriates. The event is scheduled for both Sunday and Monday.

According to reports, the officials seized big chunk of security stickers used in liquor bottles from the football player. An investigation is ongoing and more news is awaited on the issue.
