Major split in AIADMK ahead of trust vote in Tamil Nadu Assembly

Another 30 MLAs have also submitted letters to the Speaker in separate groups demanding that S.P. Velumani be appointed leader. These letters have further highlighted the leadership crisis within the party.
Meanwhile, former minister C.V. Shanmugam has already announced that he will support the Thaveka government in the upcoming trust vote. His stance is being seen as a significant political message, further deepening the divisions within the AIADMK.
Amid the political turmoil, Chief Minister Vijay has also played an active role. He reportedly met with C.V. Shanmugam at his residence in MRC Nagar, Chennai, yesterday evening.
