Major railway accident averted, loco pilot being praised
Patna: Due to fear of disturbance on the railway track in Khusrupur of Danapur railway division of Bihar, railway operations were disrupted for an hour. Actually, the loco pilot of Howrah Delhi Duronto Express realized the disturbance in the track before the train passed. He slowed down the train and stopped it on the spot. The incident took place near Khusrupur station at around 0355 pm on Monday evening. The driver informed the station master, after which the team of track inspector went to the spot and took stock. During this time, Howrah Delhi Duronto Express (12273 Up) remained halted at Khusruppur for about an hour, where half a dozen trains including Vikramshila Express, Dhanbad Patna Intercity, coming from behind, had to be stopped at various places due to the possibility of a track defect on the Up main line. The team reached the spot and examined the tracks. An officer of Danapur Railway said that track repair work was being done near Khusrupur.
