Major action taken at 8 grocery stores, banned plastic seized
Rajnandgaon. The Municipal Corporation is taking strict action by running a daily campaign to ban the sale and use of single use plastic. In the series of action, action was taken on 7 grocery shopkeepers and 1 hotel of Motipur, Ramnagar area on Tuesday and confiscated 900 grams of polythene after collecting a fine of Rs 2400. In this series, on the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Gupta, action is being taken against the concerned for sale and use of banned plastic by running a daily campaign by the Municipal Corporation. Commissioner Mr. Gupta told on the damage caused by plastic that on one hand plastic is harming the environment. At the same time, it is having a direct impact on the health of living beings including human life. Apart from this, if polythene goes in the drains, the drain gets jammed. Due to which filth spreads, the government is banning its sale and use to avoid this loss.
In the series of action, Sanitation Inspector Deepak Srivastava, Pro. Sanitation Inspector Bhushan Meshram and Safai Daroga Rajkumar Sinha, Varun Soni, Ganesh Satar, Vijender and Lokesh along with health staff from Pawan Kirana Stores of Ramnagar in 7 grocery stores of Motipur, Ramnagar area, 5-5 hundred rupees from Suresh Kirana Stores and Suraj Kirana Stores, 1 hundred rupees from Verma Hotel and 3 hundred rupees from Gopal Kirana Stores of Motipur, 1 hundred rupees from Om Kirana Stores, 2-2 from Kanhaiya Kirana Stores and Ajay Kirana Stores 900 grams of membrane foil was seized after collecting a fine of Rs. 2 thousand 4 hundred. The said campaign will continue daily. Commissioner Shri Gupta appealed to the traders to keep their establishments clean regularly, use dustbins and do not sell and use single use plastic. He also appealed to the citizens that they should not use banned plastic whenever they come out of the house with cloth bags and also explain to the people for this, so that the side effects of plastic can be avoided.
