Durg. Home Minister Vijay Sharma reached Kumhari on Wednesday to inspect the bus accident that took place last night. Durg Range IG and Divisional Commissioner had informed the Home Minister about the bus accident. After this, today Home Minister Sharma reached the spot and is inspecting the road above the mine and the bus that fell in the mine below. During this time, AIG Sanjay Sharma, officer of Inter Department Lead Agency Road Safety, has also reached the spot.
It is noteworthy that late on Tuesday night, a bus carrying 40 employees working in Kedia Distillery of Kumhari was going from the distillery towards Khapri. Meanwhile, suddenly the bus went out of control and fell into the 30 feet deep Murum mine, in which 6 people lost their lives on the spot. With the death of one more injured today, the death toll has reached 13. At the same time, about 15 employees are said to be seriously injured.
The bodies of all the employees who died in the accident have been kept in the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital at Supela and the bodies of the three deceased have been kept in the mortuary of the District Hospital. Since morning, all the officials of the district administration have reached Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, in which post-mortem of all the dead bodies is being done in front of the magistrate. Some relatives of the deceased were refusing to accept the body.
