Kerala: Ajmal from Karunagappally and Dr. Neyyattinkara, accused of killing a driver in Anurakavi, Mainagappally, have been arrested. Srikutty was also arrested. Both were charged with murder. Dr. Srikutty was taken into police custody and questioned. The Shastamkotta police have registered a case under sections of the Indian Penal Code. Ajmal, who fled after the incident, was caught in Patara on Monday morning. Medical examination revealed that both were drunk. The accident happened when both of them were returning from a party at a friend’s house. A case of drug trafficking has also been registered against Ajmal. The incident took place at 5.45 pm on Sunday in Mainagappally Anurakavi.

Kunjumol (45), a resident of Mainagappally, died in the accident. As soon as the car collided, the locals asked the driver Ajmal to stop the car, but he ran over Kunjumol’s body and fled. Fauzia, a relative who was driving the scooter on which Kunjumol was riding, is also undergoing treatment. It is said that after hitting Kunjumol, the car crashed at another place. Ajmal fled from there. After this, the police took the doctor into custody in the car itself. Eyewitnesses said that Dr. Srikutty had forced the driver to move the car forward. However, the accused said that he moved the car forward due to fear of attack by the local people. In this case, he is a defendant in the case. Six months ago, Dr. Srikutty met Ajmal, an accused in many cases. Later it turned into friendship. Eyewitnesses say that if the car had stopped, Kunjumol could have been saved.
