Mahua Lahan seized from kitchen tank, Excise Department raided and exposed the matter

Bilaspur. The Excise Department is continuously taking action against illegal liquor. The department’s team has raided an illegal liquor factory operating in Ganiyari area for years and seized 1400 kg of Lahan. Also, 1405 kg of country liquor hidden under the ground was recovered.

The team has taken action at three different locations including Ganiyari. 1405 kg of Lahan was seized during the raid in Bandha, Ganiyari of Takhatpur circle. Apart from this, more than 260 liters of fresh liquor along with country liquor has been seized. The team has registered three cases and arrested a total of two accused. In this episode, 3 cases have been registered in Mohndi Gobaripat of Kota area and 158 liters of Mahua liquor has been seized and four people have been arrested.

The Excise Officer said that during the investigation in Bandha Takhatpur, 105 liters of Mahua liquor and 400 kg of Mahua Lahan were seized from Bindu Lahariya’s hideout. A case under section 34(2)59A of Excise Act has been registered against the accused. The factory of illegal liquor being prepared by distillation method was sealed at the hideout of Krishna Kumar Verma in Ganiyari. Apart from five liters of fresh country liquor, 105 kg of Mahua Lahan was seized from the spot. A case under section 34(1) A, C of Excise Act has been registered against the accused. Apart from this, the team has recovered 150 liters of Mahua liquor hidden in a pond filled with mud and water in Verma Mohalla, Ganiyari. 900 kg of Mahua Lahan has been seized from the spot in an abandoned condition. A case under section 34(1) of Excise has been registered against the unknown accused.
