More than 70 lakh 12 thousand women of the state are getting the benefit of Chhattisgarh Mahtari Vandan Yojna. 12 thousand rupees in a year is not a small amount.. it is also the economic base for needy poor women. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has been transferring an amount of one thousand under this scheme to the bank accounts of women through online medium in the first week of every month for the last four months. This amount, which reaches the accounts of women as soon as the Chief Minister presses a button, becomes synonymous with the happiness of lakhs of women of the state. Women who were earlier dependent on a few rupees, get the amount of one thousand and their dreams of their small needs are also fulfilled when they get the amount of one thousand. They do not use this amount only for themselves… from household ration to the sudden need of a few rupees by the husband, some essential items for the children, for the happiness of grandchildren, they also use it to lovingly gift them their needs. Women eagerly wait for this amount every month. One such beneficiary of this scheme is Meera Bai. Her husband is physically challenged. Somehow she manages the household expenses by working as a labourer. She has three children and they study in schools. As soon as the school opens, she uses the amount of Mahtari Vandan Yojana to fulfill the needs of her children as well as for the household needs. She told that she has a responsibility towards the house and the amount of one thousand rupees she gets every month is a big contribution for her. With this amount, she is able to fulfill the needs of her children and husband at the last moment. Savita Bai’s husband, who lives in the village, works in the fields. Savita Bai, sipping tea in the rain, expressed the happiness she is getting from this scheme by bringing a smile on her face as soon as the name of Mahtari Vandan Nyay Yojana came up. She said that for the women of the village, the amount of one thousand is a big amount. She told that women have a habit of saving two-four-five rupees and adding hundred-two hundred rupees. Here she is getting one thousand rupees, so this amount is proving to be a lifesaver for her needs in difficult times. She is also able to spend this amount on her children. She told that after the money comes into her account, she does not have to ask her husband for unnecessary money for small needs.

She told that all she has is her son and grandchildren and she feels very happy that in old age she is able to fulfill some of the needs of her grandchildren.
