Mahayuti seat-sharing finalised at the last minute; BJP 46, Shiv Sena 23, NCP 6

Maharashtra: Despite Girish Mahajan’s repeated assertions that his Mahayuti alliance was solid for the elections, the alliance was on the verge of collapse due to his hesitation over seat-sharing. However, the seat-sharing agreement was announced at the last minute. This division was possible because the BJP backtracked. According to the announcement, the BJP holds 46 seats, the Shiv Sena Shinde faction holds 23, and the NCP Ajit Pawar faction holds 6.

In this municipal corporation election for 75 seats, the number of candidates seeking to become candidates was very high. The BJP had the most candidates. 600 people had given interviews for these 75 seats. Today was the last day for filing nomination papers, so due to the delay in seat-sharing, candidates were waiting for AB forms. Huge crowds were seen at the municipal corporation to submit nomination papers. The area outside the municipal corporation resembled a fair due to the crowd of supporters of those seeking to become candidates. There was a heavy police presence, and the road was closed to traffic due to the large crowd.
