Maharashtra: Nawab Malik warns BJP leaders
Maharashtra: Nawab Malik on BJP leaders about relations with Dawood: Nawab Malik of NCP (Ajit Pawar) party has been made a candidate from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar. BJP has opposed his candidature. This has brought the dispute in the Mahagathbandhan out in the open. BJP has made it clear that it will not go to campaign for Nawab Malik. Also, BJP leaders are saying that Nawab Malik has a relationship with Dawood. Nawab Malik has warned BJP leaders about this. He was speaking in an interview to TV9 Marathi.
“I will take legal action against those who accuse me of having links with Dawood. Criminals, there is no case of terrorism against me. I will go to the High Court against those who are making such allegations against me. I am going to file a defamation suit. All these allegations are baseless”, Nawab Malik said.
Meanwhile, Devendra Fadnavis has taken over the role of Nawab Malik. Also, BJP leader Ashish Shelar said, “We will not join the campaign of a person involved in the Dawood Ibrahim case.” Nawab Malik criticized these BJP leaders. He said, “No matter how big the leader is, I will take legal action. I am not urging you to come to my campaign. People’s support is with me. Elections are fought on this basis. Dawood’s name will be legalized on those who join me. I will never give up my ideology.” BJP MLA and Mumbai BJP President Ashish Shelar said that all the parties involved in the Mahagathbandhan have decided to announce their candidates.
The topic was only about Nawab Malik’s candidature. NCP (Ajit Pawar) has fielded Malik from Mankhurd-Shivajinagar constituency. Deputy Chief Minister and our leader Devendra Fadnavis has already stated our position regarding the Maliks. I have also repeatedly clarified the BJP’s position. Today I am saying once again that if Ajit Pawar has fielded Malik as a candidate, then BJP will not campaign for him. Shelar said, there is no question of BJP promoting Malik. We will not participate in the campaign of any person related to Dawood Ibrahim. On the other hand, questions are being raised about the campaign of Sana Malik. Sana Malik has been made the candidate by NCP (Ajit Pawar) from Anushaktinagar constituency. No evidence of Sana Malik’s involvement has been found in the case in which Nawab Malik was arrested. If there is no such evidence, then Sana Malik will be the candidate of NCP (Ajit Pawar) i.e. Mahagathbandhan and alternatively BJP. We support them.
