Maharashtra Congress called its 103 candidates to a meeting

Mumbai. Even before the results of the Maharashtra assembly elections, the Congress has become active in the state. It called a meeting of all its 103 candidates in the state and discussed the situation after the results with them. A party leader said that Maharashtra party in-charge Ramesh Chennithala held a meeting on ‘Zoom’. Congress, a constituent of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, had fielded 103 candidates in the assembly elections held on November 20 in the state. Senior leader Naseem Khan said that later the ‘core group’ of the party also held a meeting to discuss the formation of the government and the steps to be taken to protect the MLAs from horse-trading.

Earlier on Friday, Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut had said that the MVA has decided to keep all its newly elected MLAs at one place and make arrangements for their stay. He also said that the MVA will win 160 seats and there is a plan to form the government before November 26. Congress also expressed concern about this in the candidates’ meeting and said that BJP and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena can try to sabotage the elections. Therefore, everyone has to be cautious and united.

Sharad Pawar also expressed similar fear. He also held an urgent online meeting with all his candidates. In this meeting, Sharad Pawar had said that whoever wins should leave for Mumbai as soon as they get the certificate. Everyone will gather there and then the future strategy will be decided. In fact, most exit polls have given the Mahayuti an edge, but have also talked about a tight fight. In such a situation, the Aghadi feels that if there is a close contest, then the politics of manipulation can start. In such a situation, a strategy is being made to save the MLAs.
