Madhya Pradesh: Kamal Nath’s key aide leaves Congress

Bhopal: In perhaps the biggest blow to former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath in the election season, the veteran politician’s key aide and former MP minister Deepak Saxena quit the Congress party on Thursday.

The development happened just hours after Saxena’s son Ajay Saxena joined the BJP in Bhopal. However, it is not yet clear what the former minister’s next political move will be, especially after his son joined the BJP.
Saxena, considered one of Kamal Nath’s staunch loyalists, had earlier won the Chhindwara assembly seat four times and had vacated the seat for him after Nath became the MP CM in December 2018. After winning from Chhindwara assembly seat in 2018, Saxena was also appointed the pro tem speaker of the assembly.
Saxena was also a minister in the previous Congress government led by Digvijay Singh in Madhya Pradesh between 1993 and 2003. Saxena quit the Congress, but Nath’s son and Congress candidate from Chhindwara seat, Nakul Nath, canceled a large part of his election campaign in MP on Thursday. It is believed that he has gone to Delhi.
Last month, when there was talk of Nath and sitting MP son Nakul Nath joining the BJP, it was only Saxena who claimed that a section of the top Congress leadership in Delhi is being respectful to Nath after his defeat in the 2023 assembly elections. Not behaving. Party in MP.
