Madhya Pradesh: Brother-in-law set woman on fire in Ratlam
In Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district, a 33-year-old woman became the victim of a horrific crime when she allegedly set herself on fire in broad daylight, police confirmed on Sunday. The accused has been identified as Suresh (40), who has been arrested by the police in connection with the murder that took place in Dhodhar village of Ratlam district on Saturday. According to an official statement, Suresh allegedly attacked his sister-in-law Nirmala with a weapon. Later, he sprinkled petrol on her before setting her on fire, leading to her tragic death, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Rahul Kumar Lodha. As informed by the SP, the victim Nirmala was the wife of Suresh’s younger brother Prakash, who had passed away recently. The officer said the accused held Nirmala responsible for her brother’s death. The victim, who currently lives in Dhodhar with her two sons, had to face this horrific incident after the tragic suicide of her husband.
