Ludhiana: Four-year-old girl raped, thrown from third floor

Ludhiana: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in the industrial hub on Tuesday wherein a man raped a four-year-old girl child and then reportedly threw her from the third floor, which led to her death. The incident occurred at migrants’ quarters, located in Fauji Colony, Sherpur. After committing the crime, the suspect fled the scene.

As per information, when the child was playing outside the quarters, the suspect took her to his room. After the sexual assault, he took the girl to the third floor of the building and threw her from there. The girl was thrown on the rear of the factory adjoining the migrants’ quarters.

When the man threw the girl, people present there, after hearing the thumping sound, found the girl dead. Eyewitnesses said the victim was wrapped in a blanket.

Niranjan Kumar, a resident of the locality, said the girl, who was semi-naked, was bleeding from her private part. The people tried to search for the suspect but he managed to escape from the place.

Was staying for 45 days

The preliminary police investigation revealed that the man came to live in the migrants’ quarters about one-and-a-half-month ago. There are over 120 rooms in the quarters, where more than 400 persons are staying. The suspect was working at a private factory. The police are trying to get details of the suspect.

The girl’s father said he was on duty when the incident occurred and received a call from somebody. When he reached home, he came to know that his daughter had died.

ADCP Prabhjot Singh Virk, along with his team, reached the scene for investigation.

Officials from the Moti Nagar police station, led by Station House Officer Varinderpal Singh Uppal, also reached the scene.

“The preliminary probe suggest that the victim was raped and then thrown from the third floor by the suspect to hide his crime. A case of rape and murder was registered against the man, who is said to be a resident of the migrants’ quarters. Investigation is on to identify the suspect, “ the SHO said.
