Ludhiana: Chinese thread seized, three sellers arrested

Ludhiana: Khanna police arrested three people for selling banned Chinese plastic strings and recovered 141 strings from their possession. In a statement issued by Khanna police, it was told that as per the instructions of SSP Ashwani Gotiyal, a special campaign was launched against those selling Chinese strings and other miscreants. Under this campaign, on January 17, Sadar Khanna police was checking near Kot police post, where a vehicle (Chhota Hathi) came from Ludhiana. When it was stopped on the basis of suspicion, the driver was identified as Jaspreet Singh, a resident of Khanna and the person sitting next to him was identified as Jatin, a resident of Khanna. During checking, four plastic bags were found in the vehicle, which contained 96 threads of banned plastic string. On interrogation, they told that they had to sell this string to kite flyers in Khanna. A case has been registered and investigation has been started about the big suppliers of banned strings. On January 16, when the team of Khanna City-2 police station was present on Amloh Road to keep an eye on suspicious elements, they received information that Rinku of Amloh Road, Khanna was involved in selling banned plastic strings. During investigation, 45 spools were recovered from him. A case was registered against the suspect and he was arrested.
